Bagalamukhi Temple, Nalkheda – A Sacred Mahavidya Shrine in Madhya Pradesh

Introduction
Located on the banks of the Lakhundar River, a tributary of the Narmada, the Bagalamukhi Temple is a prominent spiritual site in Madhya Pradesh. The goddess Bagalamukhi is worshipped here as an aspect of Parvati and is associated with the color yellow.
History
The temple is one of three historically significant Bagalamukhi shrines in India, alongside those in Datia and Bankhandi, Kangra. It was restored in 1815 and continues to be an important pilgrimage destination, especially during Navaratri.
Architecture
Architecturally, the temple uniquely features a triad of deities with Bagalamukhi at the center, flanked by Lakshmi and Saraswati. Statues of Krishna, Hanuman, and Bhairav are also found in the premises.
